Dr. Charlotte Madahar, VMD
Veterinarian
Dr. Charlotte Madahar is originally from Alexandria, VA but moved to New Hampshire in middle school. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age and growing up she had many dogs and cats.
She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Northeastern University. While in undergrad, she worked at the Pepperberg Lab at Harvard University studying avian cognition in African Grey Parrots. Dr. Madahar received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. She has special interests in preventative medicine, dentistry, behavior, and clinical pathology. She is a Fear Free certified practitioner and committed to helping reduce fear and anxiety in our veterinary patients.
She currently resides in New Hampshire with her husband, Ravi, dog Reggie, and two cats, Oliver and Marie. Outside of work, she enjoys going to Red Sox games, hiking, visiting the beach, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Douglas Donovan, BVetMed, PhD
Veterinarian
Doug was raised in northern New Hampshire only 30 minutes from Quebec. He has always had an interest in veterinary medicine and preventive veterinary medicine. During his time at UNH, he majored in Nutrition Science with an emphasis in Animal Nutrition. He pursued a Master of Science in Dairy Science and Doctorate in Biological Science with an emphasis in Nutritional Immunology from South Dakota State University. Doug went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in London UK. He is a Fear Free certified practitioner and committed to helping reduce fear and anxiety in our veterinary patients. He has a keen interest in internal medicine, clinical pathology, and ultrasound. He resides in Northwood NH with his fiancée and her two children, and our cat Honey. During his off time, he enjoys spending time at home with family. He has a keen interest in logging and cutting wood in his spare time. Doug is very excited to be back in the seacoast area.
Dr. Cindy Hoisington, DVM
Veterinarian
Cindy has been working with us for 23 years. Before becoming a veterinarian, she earned her associate degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She feels proud of practicing evidence-based medicine. Dr. Cindy is a fear free certified professional. She enjoys hiking and gardening in her spare time.
Dr. Jan Allard, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Allard graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Before becoming a veterinarian, she earned a Master’s degree in Business from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Allard has been practicing at the Animal Health Center since 2005, and she had four years of small animal experience before joining our staff. She lives in New Durham with her husband, cat, Toulouse, dogs Cadan (corgi) and Gilligan (cockapoo), and has a horse named Maude. Dr. Jan also has a son at Siena College in New York.
Dr. Jan is a fear free certified professional.
Elizabeth
Veterinary Nurse
Elizabeth joined our team as a part-time veterinary assistant in May 2015 and liked us so much that she came on full-time in August 2016 as a veterinary technician! She completed a course in Veterinary Anesthesia course in 2017. Elizabeth earned her associate degree in Early Childhood Education from New Hampshire Technical Institute and formerly was a preschool teacher. She lives locally with her lab mix, Lilly, and cats Shari, Flea-Ona, and Timber (AKA Fatty Magee). She enjoys working on her newly purchased home or hiking with friends in her spare time.
Eric
Veterinary Nurse
Eric has been a nurse for ten years and has been a veterinary assistant on our team for three years now. He feels proud of himself for forming a bond with dogs with all different types of personalities. He enjoys showing dogs and horses in his spare time. He is also a professional opera singer.
Hayley
Certified Veterinary Technician
Hayley has been working with us for one and a half years. Before becoming a veterinary technician, she earned her associate degree from Great Bay Community College. She feels proud in Phlebotomy and pathology (laboratory procedures like running bloodwork, urinalysis, making slides, etc.). She enjoys reading and watching true crime in her spare time.
Samantha Woodbury
Certified Veterinary Technician/Practice Manager
Samantha has been a CVT for seven years and has worked at Animal Health Center as a CVT and Practice Manager for one year. Before becoming a practice manager, she earned her associate degree from the University of New Hampshire/ The Thompson School of Applied Science. She feels proud to provide her patients with the best medicine and peace of mind as a pet parent. She enjoys kayaking, spending time with family & friends, and snuggling with her kitties – Guacamole and Gregory – in her spare time.
Angela
Tech Assistant lvl 3
Angela has been working with us since 2008. Before becoming a practice manager, she earned her associate degree from the University of New Hampshire / The Thompson School of Applied Science. She feels proud of patient advocacy, end-of-life care and support, and phlebotomy. She enjoys gardening, hiking, and cooking in her spare time.
Amy
Lead Veterinary Nurse
Amy graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and has been practicing for 17 years. She has a strong passion for her patients and a desire to give them the best care possible. She also has a big heart for people and a strength in customer service. She believes compassion goes a long way! In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time hiking outdoors with her 3 girls and husband.
